When can my child start learning to drive?
Your child can take the knowledge test at 14 years old to get a Class 7 Learner’s License, with parental consent if under 18. Once they pass the knowledge test and vision screening, they can begin driving with a fully licensed (non-GDL) supervisor. We recommend starting with professional lessons from a certified instructor to build a solid foundation. After that, parents can help with regular practice to prepare them for the basic road test.
How do I enroll?

How do I complete the online theory course?
Once you register and complete payment, you’ll get access to the 15-hour online theory training.
This component is self-paced, available 24/7, and includes an open-book test. You’ll need to pass with 80% or higher (3 attempts allowed). If not passed, you'll need to re-register.
Please have at least 50% of the online theory course completed before starting your first in-vehicle training session.
What are the guidelines to completing my in-vehicle training?
We strongly recommend completing the in-vehicle training component within 4 weeks of your first session. Although, most students complete the program in about 3 weeks since driving involves muscle memory and you'll benefit from upkeeping the momentum.
We understand life happens and that everyone has a unique learning curve, so just reach out if you need more flexibility.
Please have 100% of the online theory course completed by your last in-vehicle training session.
When can I take the road test?
You must be at least 16 years old, have held a Class 7 license for at least one year, and be recommended by your instructor as ready for the test. Road test appointments can book up quickly, so we recommend checking the system regularly for openings.
What are the passing requirements for the insurance certificate?
To qualify, students must score 75% or higher in in-car sessions and score 80% or higher in the online classroom course.
When will I receive my insurance certificate?
Your certificate will be issued by the end of your last in-vehicle training, in person, provided you meet all requirements.
That said, please ensure to complete your online theory course on time to avoid having to wait 2–3 weeks for your insurance certificate via mail and incurring postage cost.
I lost my certificate. Can I get a new one?
Yes. A reissued certificate costs $50 and will be sent to your registered address.
How will your programs help my teen?
Our course is designed to build safe, confident, and responsible drivers. We don’t just teach the rules—we help students understand why they matter.
When young drivers grasp the importance of safe habits, they’re more likely to follow them for life. This not only creates safer roads for everyone but can also lead to long-term benefits like avoiding traffic tickets, maintaining a clean driving record, and further lowering insurance costs.
I'm licensed to drive in a foreign country, where do I start?
If you have a license from a foreign country, then you can first obtain your Class 7 Learner License, then go straight to taking the Class 5 Non-GDL Package (Package E).
Why are driving lessons 2 hours long?
Two-hour sessions give students time to experience diverse road environments—residential, urban, downtown, highways, rural areas and more. It also allows for more in-depth skill practice, which leads to better retention and faster progress.
Why might my child need more than the number of lessons booked?
Every student learns differently. If your child has had some driving practice with you before starting lessons, instructors can focus more on refining skills and road rules. But if it’s their first time behind the wheel, the early sessions will focus on basic vehicle control.
Some students pick things up quickly, while others need more time to build confidence. We always recommend practicing between lessons to help reinforce what they’ve learned and speed up progress.
Are your instructors certified?
Yes, Mike is certified by Alberta Transportation and a former top-rated AMA instructor. With 10+ years of instructing experience, he teaches driving in a straight forward, practical and safe way that sticks. He also completed his Defensive Driving Certification so he incorporates the principle into all his classes.
Can I use my own vehicle for lessons?
No. Alberta Transportation requires training vehicles to have a second brake, dual rearview mirrors, proper roof signage and special 6D insurance coverage. Our vehicles meet all safety and insurance standards for instruction.
How do I reschedule lessons?
To reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours' notice via phone, text or email. Late changes or no-shows may result in a $50 fee, unless it’s an emergency. We appreciate communication and always aim to be flexible.
